日本航空在4/28宣佈了2010年的最新版的航線及機隊裁減計畫,在機對裁撤的部分,Boeing 747-400機隊和Airbus 300-600將提前在2010年會計年度前退役,比原先的淘汰計畫提早了一些時間。
在航線裁減的部分,2010年底前日航將會中止15條國際航線合計每週86個航班,以及30條國內航線合計58個航班,如此一來將會再撤出7個海外營運點,包括了阿姆斯特丹、布里斯本、巴里島、大島、羅馬、米蘭及聖保羅。
在國際航線部分,日航將會加強成田機場的轉運能力,提供北美往來亞洲良好的轉機時間,或是提供成田往來日本國內重要城市的航班;另外也將強化羽田機場的國際航線,將從目前的每天5個航班增加到每天14個航班,除了提供亞洲近距離的航線,日航也將利用深夜或清晨的時間提供羽田往返曼谷、舊金山、巴黎及檀香山的航線。此外,在關西及中部也將維持亞洲近距離及檀香山航線,其中在關西—金浦(首爾)將由144座的737-800改成176座單一艙等的737-800。
